Yaw Man Ñun       30 minutes

Dream-C Discipline

(Senegal)

dance

Suitable for all audiences

Yaw Man Ñun was born from an intimate and collective feeling of an urgent need to create dialogue. As an artist and a citizen, I observe a world around me where speech is fragmented, sometimes silenced, where the most fragile voices struggle to be heard. This creation is my way of giving these voices back their place, of offering them a choreographic space where they
so that they can resonate, articulate, and engage in dialogue. In this piece, the body becomes the vehicle for a collective voice. There is no theoretical discourse, but gestures that cry out, breaths that resist, and ensembles that are built.

"Yaw Man Ñun"

, literally "you, me, we have something to say", poses this essential question: how to connect with others without losing one's uniqueness?
I wanted a piece where the body struggles, transforms, unites and separates, a political piece in the sense that it summons the Other. A creation where dance is not only form, but force.
